Purpose and goal

The project has focused on two areas. Together, Scania and Ericsson have studied which infrastructure is needed for autonomous driving in to be introduced. What can today´s 5G networks support that make autonomous driving safe and introduced in the future. In the logistics part, studies of various flows that deal with streamlining parcel distribution have been carried out. The focus has been on seeing if the sharing economy of infrastructure and data can help the industry reduce costs and environmental impact.

Expected results and effects

The project has created results for what the next step in the collaboration between Ericsson and Scania could look like. There is interest in continuing to use Innovation cloud for visualization and data sharing. The project has also laid a foundation for various tests of use cases that Scania wants to carry out. För Logistik part, various actors have participated to study how an efficiency of various logistics flows could take place. The problem today is that each supplier has its own infrastructure. With the sharing economy, infrastructure and data can be shared to reduce costs.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been divided into two parts. An infrastructure part with Ericsson and Scania as main players. The other part has Lindholmens Science park and Ericsson as main stakeholders. Connections have also involved other nearby logistics project. Both projects have been completed and the results have created the conditions for the next step. In the part Ericsson and Scania will develop further in the FFI project Future 5G ride. For the logistics part, the results will continue to be developed in the Smart Hem and closer projects.
