Purpose and goal
The aim of the project was to develop a digital prototype for a method developed by Leif Maerker. The method is used in the learning of basic skills training in mathematics for students in grades 2-3. The output of the project is an interactive website, located at http://www.surven.se. The website is available to everyone and initially the licenses are free in order to build up a customer base.
Expected results and effects
The website is fully functional and can be used for teaching arithmetics in grades 2-3. The work has been performed in close cooperation with teachers at different schools and the feedback we have received from them has been very positive. The website has also been shown at the Teacher´s Event in Eriksberg and the reception there were very positive as well.
Planned approach and implementation
The project was carried out largely according to the plan. The only deviation from the plan was the decision to postpone the functionality to purchase licenses using a credit card. Instead functionality to purchase licenses from established vendors for teaching materials was included. The close cooperation with educators in the schools has given very valuable feedback.
