Purpose and goal

The aim of the project has been to start the development of the next product in RideQ´s digital learning system where riders correct their body´s position in the saddle with intuitive real-time haptic feedback from a digital smart department. The product regulates the upper body position. The ultimate goal has been to develop a working prototype that is close to a commercially viable product in order to take our business to the next level and increase competitiveness.

Expected results and effects

We have developed a fully functional prototype that controls the upper body position with associated app where you control the setting of the severity and communication between the app and hardware via bluetooth. UX tests and iterations have been performed in sessions by riders on horseback. The results have provided good insight into the complexity of the task and the priorities that must be made in a further development that is necessary before it is a finished commercial product. Market interest is very high.

Planned approach and implementation

The starting point was to define exactly what position we are aiming for, which unwanted movements are commonly occurring and how they should be affected so that the rider responds intuitively., with associated fixing solution and an app where the settings can be controlled. Denna UX was tested in several iterations by horse rider and further developed. During the work, several challenges were defined, which were iterated.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
