Purpose and goal
AVTECH has developed a system for reporting wind to landing aircrafts called Aventus NowCast System. Newly-observed winds from previous aircrafts and or/forecasts issued by meteorological service providers are used to create a nowcast. A nowcast is a forecast which is valid now, i.e. provides information on meteorological conditions (in this case wind) with a short time range. The system will be modified for a new supplier of data communication services, SITA, and thereby circum navigate the obstacles which have prevented a successful sale of the product.
