Purpose and goal

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose was to evaluate a wastewater treatment technique in the form of a filter containing DiaPure filter medium which recycles phosphorus from wastewater. The goal was then to recycle the phosphorus that was trapped in the sewer filter. Testing was carried out in the sewer well of end users together with the customer. The experiment was followed week by week to see how well the filter purified the wastewater from phosphorus, as well as the purification effect the regeneration of the filter had. We also wanted to protect the idea with a patent.

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** We found that the filter meets the purification requirements for phosphorus from the wastewater, and that we recycled 25% of the phosphorus trapped in the filter. Important observations and experiences were made that we can take with us into the next phase to increase the recovery rate of phosphorus. In the laboratory, 100% of the phosphorus was recovered from the filter.

Planned approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** A 50kg filter was used for a household of two people. The filter was packed in a riser tube with plastic bottom and rubber gasket (130cm high and diameter 320mm). The water is led down to the filter bottom and then allowed to rise through the filter mass. The filter mass consisted of diapure filter material, small granules of 2-4mm. The wastewater that was purified in the filter had been purified in three sedimentation chambers and one sewage treatment step.
