Important results from the project
Wastewater treatment and wastewater treatment are global issues with growing future challenges. In Europe there is a great interest in utilizing the resources available in sewage sludge, for example by biopolymer production, extracting nutrients and biogas production. Our project is to look at, and project a pilot plant for handling, processing and refining sludge and leachate from industry and municipal organic waste to biogas, pure process water, bioenergy in pellet form and Bio fertilizer.
Expected long term effects
A full-scale, modern, scalable waste disposal facility for small and medium-sized municipalities where we can demonstrate how to reuse up to 90% of local waste without long-term transport using modern technology. The demo plant should operate in a sharp position but also act as a training platform for waste technicians and facilitate the sale to other municipalities in Europe where demand for these facilities is high, but the lack of a combined facility operated in a sharp mode also works as a training platform lacking.
Approach and implementation
Through funds from Eurostars 2 projects and local funds such as the Energy Agency, Climate Climate, carry out a complete pilot study for the design of a sharp facility in Sunne or Arvika in Sweden, and in Turkey, for example, in Cyprus where we have good contacts so that we get an island perspective on the project. We have previously discussed both with B7 and other islands networks around the world, which have major challenges to solve their waste in the best possible way.
