Important results from the project
The aim is to analyse the effects of new freight demand concepts including new longer and heavier road vehicles as well as new rail vehicles and to present the results in an CBA.
Expected long term effects
The result of the project will guide the development towards new freigh transport concepts
Approach and implementation
The project is planned as 9 work packages. Wp 1 makes a survey of existing ideas of new freight transport concepts. Wp 2 discusses the methodology for designing the experiments in wp 3 - 5. In wp 3 field tests are carried out with longer/heavier road vehicles. Similar tests are planned for the railway in Wp 4. Additional studies in a simulation enviroment is planned in Wp 5. Wp 6 takes this knowledge and try to evaluate the result of freight corridors. As a basis for this evaluation will an effect catalogiu e written (wp 7) and the basis for CBA created (Wp 8).
