Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal with the study has been to identify obstacles and limits for a physically active life and sports for people with disabilities . This was to be done in collaboration with actors on state, county and local level. The goal for the study has been fulfilled and presented in the report which has been produced.

Expected results and effects

A number of different obstacles has been identified on different levels of peoples lives. These have been divided into four areas: (1) the settings for the individual, (2) support from society, (3) the shape of society and (4) the individuals set of departure. In the report that has been produced we see to a holistic perspective for how these obstacles affect the individual simultaneously, something many of the participating respondents for the study have shown great appreciation for us doing.

Planned approach and implementation

To identify the obstacles and limitations in place, we made an extensive investigation on previously conducted studies and reports, and interviewed 43 respondents representing 28 actors in society. These have been done through: - three focus groups (1: local government, 2: civil society organisations, 3: women with disabilities) - phone interviews with ten countys - workshops to discuss the results deeper with respondents from all of Sweden and with different types of disabilities

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
