Venture The strategic innovation programme Electronic Components and Systems:

Purpose and goal

A completed inventory of existing initiatives aimed at increasing interest in technology among young people. The project has identified initiatives suitable for scale-up to reach more young people on a national level. The project has also succeeded in establishing a network of contacts among teachers, guidance counselors, and identified ways to contact this target group

Expected results and effects

The project is part of Smarter Electronics Systems work to secure the industry´s long-term skills and has been focused on preparing for greater efforts to increase the interest of young people to choose industry relevant secondary education. Based on the project results a next step will be to present a proposal for a joint effort of several strategic innovation programs at the annual conference

Planned approach and implementation

Parallel to the inventory of existing initiatives have been pursued activities like networking, workshops and events to inform and inspire, but also capture the needs of teachers, guidance counselors at the elementary and secondary school to understand their needs for materials and opportunities to raise awareness and status of the electronics industry as a future workplace
