Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to develop and validate technology, which powers remotely located sensors in the public water pipelines. The sensors are deployed to identify leakage, which today adds up to about 20% of the freshwater production. The overall goal of the project was firstly to validate the technology in an environment similar to real operational settings, which was fulfilled. Secondly, to validate the opportunity to deliver the value offering through specific distribution channels, which also was fulfilled.

Expected results and effects

The overall result of the project was very good and the company today has a full functioning prototype, which meets the need customer´s needs. The effect of the project result is the the company now will move to the next phase towards more comprehensive field installations in collaboration with potential customers and parters.

Planned approach and implementation

The project plan has to the vast majority been executed as projected where continuous tests and validations of the technology and the business case have been the core blocks of the process to prepare the product for the upcoming launch. Because of external conditions certain tests in the end of the project had to be carried out in an alternativ environment. This change was not expected to affect the project result in a major way and the original activity will still be carried out outside of the scope of this very project.
