A permanent world exhibition in Karlstad

Purpose and goal

The project´s purpose and goal is to create conditions for a demonstration platform, or a World Exhibition, of the future sustainability of public transport. The project is inspired by the BRT and the goal is to take one of the new advanced bus systems which is something between a bus and tram to Karlstad. This requires investment in local infrastructure with for example own lanes and ´green streets´ and improved stops. Modern information technology is designed to enclose and enhance passengers´ sense of experiencing something completely new. The project invites you to dialogue and knowledge transfer, and documenting implementation problems.

Results and expected effects

A full-scale demonstration platform will demonstrate a vision for a more attractive public transport system. The main expected result is that more people are choosing to take public transport, particularly motorists who have not previously seen public transport as an alternative. In addition, develop a network for information and knowledge about future public transport solutions.

Approach and implementation

Knowledge inventing project to find out what it takes to rig a full-scale demonstration platform with a new, advanced bus systems. The project will host a number of workshops and seminars for knowledge flow, experience and inspiration.
