Reference number
Coordinator Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset - Medicinsk Teknik
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 350 999
Project duration August 2014 - December 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project has established a cooperation with the three suppliers as well as conducted process mappings within each care flow, resulting in project ideas. The partnership organization has been established for two of the three partnerships. The performance based reimbursement model has been applied to a pilot project, in order to further develop the principles. The project has created a foundation for future cooperation and further development of the partnership.

Results and expected effects

The partnership will continue for a period of 14-20 years, with a development in three phases. The effects can only be measured after some time, when care flow optimizing projects have been completed and evaluated. Detailing of the pathways has been done through process mapping. Processes for the partnership cooperation have been documented as a tool. Preparations for installation have been made. Knowledge sharing through for example a chapter in a methodology book and participation at seminars.

Approach and implementation

An important prerequisite for the project has been the cooperation across many departments, with an involvement on an operative, tactic and strategic level. The challenges of an on-going organizational change within the hospital have been handled through involvement of both the current and future decision makers. The Care flow coordinator has enabled the introduction of the partnership to new sub care flows and acted as support to the clinics. A specific project group has worked with the reimbursement model.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
