Purpose and goal

The project´s main purpose and goal has been to develop, test and evaluate a new concept for sign language users to enhance their ability to achieve a more equal and accessible healthcare advice service. The results, insights and experiences have led to proposals for further work for sign language users in particular and step towards broadening of the concept.

Results and expected effects

By designing, test and evaluate a concept for a three-party video call for sign languages users, have insights and experiences regarding the application of video conferencing in health care advice service been gained. Based on this new knowledge, has the project been able to give suggestions for further initiatives. For the group using sign language, as well as suggestions on broadening the concept to reach more long-term goals for the use of video in 1177 Vårdguiden

Approach and implementation

The project is formed of several parties and divided into several work packages. The project has worked with a user-centered methodology to design a concept. The project´s timeframe and the adjustments made in schedules affected the ability to apply a full-scale iterative design process before the pilot project. Communication activities focused on the target group. The project performed a knowledge inventory. Based on gained knowledge have future initiatives been identified.
