Reference number
Coordinator Sveriges Ingenjörer
Funding from Vinnova SEK 415 596
Project duration September 2015 - June 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim was to support professional engineers who for various reasons do not realize their ideas which could be developed in a new company. It is a long term effort which now continues with new insight from the project. The goal was to build a new model to help professional engineers where they can develop their ideas. To build a model can not be made by the Swedish Engineers alone but the result is a base for further modeling.

Expected results and effects

The project has initiated the development of a practical method that will support professional engineers´ idea development with support from the Swedish Engineers, Vinnova and regional promoting innovation actors. A full-scale approach requires the involvement of more players than the Swedish Engineers who was the only party in this project. It has been confirmed that inspiration from succesful innovators and to have access to an innovative environment is important for getting started.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been a pilot project conducted in a region over a period of ten months, organizing training sessions and workshops. The participating engineers have appreciated a well-organized initiative with clear information and effective working meetings. The project has been easy to participate in what has been seen as a prerequisite for participation. The project has been conceived as a link between people with ideas worth developing and the organizations providing support for innovation.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
