Purpose and goal

The project’s aim was to launch the innovation competition and make it known, as well as prepare the practical implementation of the competition. These goals have been achieved through the planned activities. An internal design manual has been produced, as well as a competition manual with information and inspiration. The practical implementation of the competition has also been prepared. The competition has been launched through medial work, participation in a number of conferences, information to municipalities, and conversations with potential competitors.

Expected results and effects

The project has made possible a thoughtful design of the competition and created good conditions for implementing it in practice. The design of the competition has been well-developed. Collaborations with other actors exist, but more co-financiers would have been desirable. Relevant staff in all municipalities have been reached by information about the competition. Others have also come to know about it. The preparation of the competition creates the conditions for improving outreach at the beginning, during and after the competition´s implementation phase.

Planned approach and implementation

The competition´s design has been developed with experts on innovation competitions and winter cycling. Internal exemples of innovation competitions was also used as reference in the design. It was useful to achieve a solid competition design. The launch of the competition has been good when it comes to municipalities, which is the main target group for the competition. To some extent, other groups have been reached, such as companies, students, individuals and organizations. More targeted marketing against them would have been rewarding.
