Purpose and goal

The aim of the project has been to identify central needs for improvement in the the area of crisis training and to generate and document ideas for a digital ´training studio´. We consider the project goals well met through the needs analysis and the concept description described in the final report. Additional goals of the project was to identify suitable calls for funding for the continued work and to identify and form a consortium able to realize the proposed ideas. Also these goals have been met.

Results and expected effects

A result of the project is the needs analysis performed, illustrating how and how often organizations train today and what strengths and need for improvements ´problem owners´ experience. Another result is the suggested digital ´training studio´ that can be used to plan exercises and to train staff. Yet other results are the new collaborations and applications for funding the project have initiated. This meet the project´s expected results to increase the knowledge about the potential to improve preparedness for crises through training supported by ICT.

Approach and implementation

The results have mainly been created through workshops, questionnaires and study visits. The workshops attracted vital organizations and individuals from the area and have contributed to a rich picture of today´s crisis training and to constructive and innovative ideas. The questionnaire study did also contribute important information. Results have been validated and developed in meetings with researchers and experts. The project group has also had a well-functioning internal co-operation based mainly on web-based tools for co-creation and communication.
