Important results from the project
The project aimed to be a substantial contribution to a discussion on how Sweden today promotes international competence and how this must be done in a better, more strategic way. The goal was that the issue is raised higher on the political agenda and in the public debate, and by best practices and policy recommendations show how Sweden as country could become better at making use of international competence.
Expected long term effects
The project resulted in a report which was launched on March 19th 2014 in Stockholm. During the launch several parliamentary politicians attended, as did representatives from industry and the academia. The report has attracted media attention with articles in UNT, SvD and TCO magazine. It has been distributed to the participants at the seminar of the GFMD, Almedalen and in other relevant contexts. Interest in the report is still great and it will be presented on more occasions during 2014 and the 2015. Examples of this include a seminar for Swedes in the world in August in 2014.
Approach and implementation
The project has proceeded as planned with the exception of the fact that the finished product and the launch was delayed by a few months and thus launched later than the original plan. This is due to factors such as peer-review, printing time and suitability for the launch (debate climate and other arrangements).
