UbiGo Stockholm Further development

Coordinator UbiGo Innovation AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 250 000
Project duration November 2018 - October 2020
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project has run in parallel with the launch of UbiGo´s commercial MaaS service. The goal has been to implement a more seamless integration of public transport (SL), to develop a more accessible and scalable carsharing concept and to identify efficient ways to recruit customers and expand geographically. The time plan and implementation have been adapted, but the goals have mainly been met and the results have been directly translated into improvements of service, platform and marketing.

Expected results and effects

UbiGo´s flexible public transport subscriptions is implemented with the SL card as a medium. A long-term agreement has been signed with SL, allowing the service to be scaled up without access to BoB tickets. A concept for a dynamic car service has been developed. The solution is being implemented and will be gradually introduced. Continuous testing of different marketing models connected has resulted in applicable knowledge of what works. A new model for collaboration with real estate players has been established.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been dependent on external parties who participated as business partners and not project participants. With that, UbiGo has lacked control over many critical factors, which has made the project implementation more difficult but the results more relevant as the development is based on mutual business benefits. Running a development project in parallel with a launch in a lean organization has similarly made the implementation more complex, but the results more directly applicable.
