Project duration June 2015 - March 2016

Purpose and goal

TrafIQ is the winning contribution of GDC2014. Renova, DSV, DHL and Schenker were involved since they have a need to adjust according to ongoing and upcoming disturbances in the traffic in Gothenburg. These distributors saw a great potential in the product and have entered with Letters of Support for piloting the software. The purpose of this project was to take TrafIQ from a prototype to a ready product. Contacts have been established with key persons in the business line which has created insight into the movements of the business and given new opportunities to improve the service.

Expected results and effects

The product today is a unique solution between the needs of the distributors, their internal data and the disturbance data from the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). It´s adjusted to several of the usergroups´ working environments and activities. There is a great growth potential, both in features and in geographical areas of application. Amongst the features are: -Disturbance overview -Temporary Loading Zones -Direct driver messaging -Automatic messaging for geographical zones -Improvement reporting from the drivers -Infoscreen for cargo bays

Planned approach and implementation

The project started with workshops that generated a large basis for further development of the existing prototype and for the development of the iOS-app that shall communicate with the web-app. Step two was to develop the web-app further and write the iOS-app. The distributors are now using the service in their activities (pilot), which is followed up with workshops to map the use of the service and to gather suggestions on improvement. Thereafter final adjustments will be done of the products along with a business model.
