The project aimed to create a knowledge transfer between the university and dental health care and to enable applied research of digital transformation of dental care overall. The aim was also about creating the opportunity for a knowledge transfer between the university and the participated dental clinic, which relates to how dental health care can carry out a digital transformation. Data collection was conducted with patients and staff in the form of surveys and interviews for evaluation of the effect targets. Analysis of the collected empirical material is still going on.

Expected results and effects

The analysis is still ongoing, but the preliminary results show that the staff had high expectations of being able to participate and develop the future dental care. However, they expressed their disappointment at not being able to try more innovative digital solutions than what has been done so far. Patients, for their part, expressed in the interviews that they could understand the value of a specially digitized clinic to optimize resources as much as possible. They appreciated the modern clinic´s modern premises, short queues and professional treatment of the staff.

The project has been implemented in several iterations and has been evaluated and reported in partial deliveries. The project has included the following parts: preparation of project plans, descriptions of working methods, working methods and responsibilities, preparation of evaluation templates for testing of equipment and technology and working methods, preparation of routines for evaluating testing and working methods in use, training of personnel has been implemented, commissioning of equipment, technology and working methods.
