Purpose and goal

The aim of the project is to do an empirical study on how organizational factors influence credit decision-making in times of crises. Specifically, this project wants to make a longitudinal study of how credit staff is influenced by internal organizational factors in a crises situation. Since it is a three year project and 2013 is the first of the three years the effects of the project is yet impossible to measure. However the project follows the schedule and the preliminary results obtained in the work with the database is very interesting.

Results and expected effects

It is a 3 year project, where year 1 and 2 above all means working with the database. First year 3 the results will be presented to the research community and the industry. Since collaboration has been established with researchers in Sweden and in U.S. the empirical material has been presented and discussed within the research community. The empirical material has also been discussed in the collaboration with Swedbank. Since the results available in the project are preliminary, work with the database will continue in 2014, no outcome of the project´s expected impact can yet be evaluated.

Approach and implementation

The project plan was only to make a quantitative study based on the database Swedbank made available. Work on the database as well as discussions with Swedbank have shown that a qualitative study would contribute to the project. A qualitative study has therefore been initiated.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
