Purpose and goal

The purpose was to cater the demands of clinical evidence and to lower the production costs, to make Mollii into a more competitive product. Whitin the project, a RCT-study has been initiated together with researchers and clinicians in Linköping and Borås, and several successful activities have been carried out to improve the production. The research study has been slightly delayed and the results come no earlier then the end of 2015.

Expected results and effects

The ongoing research study has led to a large number of valuable contacts for the company and resulted in increased credibility with clinicians making it easier to communicate Mollii. Report on clinical efficacy is expected in the end of 2015. Production improvements carried out have resulted in lower costs, which has lead to increased margins for the company. In addition, the improvements have helped Inerventions to better results in terms of quality and repeatability.

Planned approach and implementation

The clinical research study started somewhat late in September 2013, when a total of 36 patients had been included. Data collection for the study is expected to be completed in fall 2015. The time to publication in an appropriate journal, after data collection, is about 6 months. Production improvements were implemented, despite the challenges, according to the timetable. The project with wireless communication and new software is on track to become successful, despite delays due to regulatory requirements.
