Project duration March 2016 - February 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project explored through the phases of planning and development if co-creation, art, culture and creative expertise needed to get a new and stronger role in urban development in Nacka. The answer was a clear yes. The overall strategy for the implementation phase was to do even more activities to strengthen the new model / innovation even more. "The art of urban creation" has now been established as part of the ordinary work in urban development in a sustainable way, and is a well-regarded, appreciated and successful method both internally and externally.

Expected results and effects

Over the years "The art of urban creation" has shown that it is possible to increase the attractiveness of an area and thus also the economic and human values associated with it. The builders who develop the entire Nacka together with us know that they are expected to embrace our ambition develop Nacka in an innovative way - both during the time of construction and when it is finished. It implies awareness and willingness to pursue a qualitative development process that includes co-creation, art, culture and artistic skills all the way from planning to final results.

Planned approach and implementation

The thesis that we have driven from the start is that it is through doing the innovation becomes clear. The introductory phase has therefore also been the most about continued doing - to scale up the doing. To involve more has been the most important here. By expanding existing control documents such as agreements, the Art of urban Creation has established as compulsory. We have used the principles of driving development in complexity where continued tests on an appropriate scale, reflection and learning has been important. This layout worked out excellent.
