Purpose and goal

The Tives project aims to examine the trends and news in the electronics and software in the automotive industry outside Sweden, as well as trends in other industries. The goal is to increase awareness of these trends among Swedish players in the automotive sector, ie government agencies, academia, sub-suppliers and automotive companies. Dissemination has been done through published reports, seminars and presentations.

Expected results and effects

Eight reports have been published: - Sensors - Big Data - Continuous Deployment - Systems of Systems - Virtualized testing - Architecture of intelligent vehicles and intelligent infrastructures - Deep machine learning - Robust system of systems Most reports have been presented at public seminars and special events. Several of these have inspired further efforts within FFI, such as Big Data. Long term the results has contributed to increased competitiveness, improved environmental and safety by making new solutions reach the market faster.

Planned approach and implementation

The project´s basic idea is to monitor and analyze publications in the Swedish automotive industry´s operating environment, has worked well. By many scientists involved in the work, the project has also helped to increase knowledge about automotive industry´s challenges for researchers in specific disciplines such as Big Data, Machine Learning, and Systems of Systems. The results of the project inspired new initiatives in several of the actors.
