Coordinator | Länsstyrelsen i Stockholms län |
Funding from Vinnova | SEK 489 000 |
Project duration | August 2012 - June 2013 |
Status | Completed |
Purpose and goal
SILS should be seen as a pre-study for future projects. Priorities have been developed and will be made concrete - partly in projects starting in the fall of 2013 driven by the Partnership of Sweden´s strong life science regions, partly through the development of a so-called SIO programe.
Results and expected effects
Through SILS we´ve created a broad consensus on what needs to be done. The most important actors in Linköping/Norrköping, Skåne, Stockholm-Mälardalen, Umeå and Västra Götaland have agreed on priority areas that will lead to common solutions to both regional and national challenges in the life science sector. As an effect of SILS relevant action plans can be specified so that Sweden can achieve a long-term growth in the life science sector
Approach and implementation
For the projects objectives to be reached it is essential that all of Swedens life science-regions are represented in the management of the project as well as in the working group. Focus of the project is growth. SILS will ultimately create a long-term growth in the life sience-sector in Sweden. SILS is, however, on a policy level and the following implementation of the five priorities that have been developed are implemented in future projects. To simplify future broad arrangements in the life science-sector there are also dialogues with other agendas on this early stage.
