During the project, it has been identified that there is a lack of research and efforts in the area with a focus on SMEs with a focus on sustainability and that the knowledge base gathered by the project can contribute to Innovation and sustainability-promoting board work for SMEs as well as larger companies and organizations.
Expected long term effects
The project has developed a model for sustainable and innovative governance. Expected effects and performance goals in the project included models and tools that can be used by companies and organizations to develop sustainable and innovative governance, management and organization, further structure and culture for a more innovative and sustainability oriented board of directors. The models that have been developed have been designed as concepts that can be used by companies and other organizations within the target group and will be offered as new services.
Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out together with researchers and three SMEs. As a complement, the project has had a reference group. The project formulated several initiatives to support organizations to apply research-based knowledge and methods in innovation management, sustainability and organization. The methods have been developed together with participating companies, and later for other companies with great success.
