Purpose and goal
The goal is to promote sustainable healthcare as a vital growth sector with a strong need for innovations. This goal was achieved through the seminars, workshops, interviews and meetings conducted during the period. Moreover, the successful launch of the Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare increased stakeholders´ awareness of the area and its potential.
Results and expected effects
The most important result of the work with the Innovation Agenda was the launch of the Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare. It was raised the status of the sustainable healthcare sector and initiated discussions on sustainable healthcare. A number of applications have been made following the completion of the Innovation Agenda. Moreover, a Swedish university is discussing a possibility of establishing a sustainable healthcare professorship.
Approach and implementation
The work with layouting and implementing the Innovation Agenda was based on the well-established contact networks, which facilitated involvement of stakeholders and helped collect their feedback. A number of international stakeholders requested cooperation within the Swedish expertise in sustainable healthcare. However, the funding policies only allow for a rather limited collaboration with stakeholders outside Sweden, which implies certain obstacles for further international cooperation.
