Funding from Vinnova SEK 791 200
Project duration October 2016 - December 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to develop an effective and inviting innovation platform for patients and relatives. Purpose has also been to target a specific group to develop processes and learning, to understand if this can lead to better care. The project has broadly fulfilled purpose and goals, except that incoming ideas have not progressed as long as expected along the idea management process. Major emphasis has been placed on qualitative and target-specific issues identified as important for achieving good readiness, knowledge and impact for continued work.

Expected results and effects

The innovation platform has opened its web for patient innovators Communication material Increased awareness about the platform and the importance of patient involvement A total of 19 ideas, 3 from the specific target group 7 ideas in the idea management process Mapping and process, different pathways for patient innovators Method of working with employees, patients and relatives Support and materials for competence development Widened networks, regionally and nationally Suggestions of how the patient innovation platform can be integrated into regular activities

Planned approach and implementation

The project has worked in two tracks; one open and one target-oriented track, which has provided valuable learning and input to the development of the patient-innovation platform. Employees have been identified as a key resource for working with and reaching patient innovators. It is therefore important to continue with a model where they are involved in a target-oriented work, broadened to more groups according to a campaign-oriented approach involving employees, research, patients and relatives, thus expanding the Innovation Platform´s ordinary mission.
