Purpose and goal

The aim of the project is fulfilled and has resulted in a digital platform facilitating contact between academy, local government agencies and regional intermediaries. An established infrastructure, which includes the commitments of the participants´, is the foundation of the platform. Participation has been clarified regarding expectations, resources, timeframes, communication channels, terms of conditions, scheduled activities and local interests.

Expected results and effects

Collaboration between Luleå University of Technology (LTU) and Regional R & D Environment (Research and Development / Innovation) has been developed. Also, an increased legitimacy in the municipalities for both organizations is evident. LTU and R & D have, through the combination of common interests, strengthened their links to schools and pre-schools in the region. With an expanded accessibility, a common language and a perspective that include practice-based interests, the project has visualized local development needs and facilitated local support with students´ thesis work

Planned approach and implementation

Information from all stakeholders has been collected and processed continuously to develop a sustainable model for collaboration. This included coordination of internal discussions about quality in students’ thesis at LTU and external proposals with students and researchers. The regional R & D environment facilitated access to the local municipal administrations in order to stage joint activities. This has created a mutual understanding of the conditions for collaboration in each organization and has resulted in a realistic and sustainable model.
