Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to establish an interdisciplinary research clusters in modeling for lightweight and formulate a roadmap for the work in Phase II. The cluster is established and the application for start of phase II of SRA1 will be submitted in early November 2014. The application is attached as an appendix to this final report of phase I.
Expected long term effects
The goal of LIGHTer SRA1 is to contribute to LIGHTer´s overall objectives concerning lightweight solutions and services. However, there are also specific goals for SRA1 specified in its project application. They are the establishment of the cluster and the formulation of a roadmap, outlined in the application for Phase II. We expect to fulfill the other objectives during phase II.
Approach and implementation
The set up of the project has a unique perspective with its focus on creating a sustainable, national competence network. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary mix is important for the development of lightweight expertise. The process for selecting excellence researchers has been documented extra carefully because we believe that SRA1 can be a role model for others. It has been important, and successful, to have many workshops with discussions and presentations in the establishment phase.
