Strategic Project Material supply

Reference number
Coordinator Stiftelsen Chalmers Industriteknik
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 550 000
Project duration March 2015 - December 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project aims to increase the ability of Swedish graphene material suppliers to adapt / develop its materials into products that customers demand. This is met by all partners to whom the project has meant increased opportunities for cooperation and contacts, both with companies and researchers. Generall impresssions are, however, that the grahene market so far is a cautious market. All materials actors show positive developments during 2015 and points out that the project has meant increased opportunities to process the national market.

Expected results and effects

Together, the project partners have 37 ongoing corporate discussions, 21 with larger companies and 16 SMEs. Add to this 15 academic leads that are important in collaborative projects with multifunctional material properties required. Material samples have produced by all the partners but generally the materials are developed together with the company after the customer´s specifications, allowing the material largely tailored. The result will be improved at the expense of longer lead times.

Planned approach and implementation

2D fab has moved into new premises and established a lab. 2D fab has also initiated several first customer contacts and started to materials development. Through a greater presence in the national market, sales in Sweden increased markedly for Graphensic since the project start. Development projects have been initiated with major industrial player, with the aim of developing products. GIL has initiated development projects with major companies but it´s a continuing inertia, which means that progress is slow.
