Strategic mobility: proposal regarding research visit of Prof. Dries Faems in Lund

Purpose and goal

The project funded a shorter research visit in Lund for Professor Dries Faems from University of Groningen. The purpose was to transfer knowledge, engage Dries Faems in ongoing research activities in Lund and to initiate a long-term collaboration. All objectives have been accomplished.

Expected results and effects

Dries Faems has spent, in total, six weeks in Lund. During this time, he has been actively engaged in collecting data and writing; had developmental conversations with PhD students as well as presented his own research in seminars in Lund. We consider the project successful and the collaboration with Groningen and Lund University will continue after the project is finalized. Dries Faems is actively involved as an international expert in a new research project on innovation in new ventures and he is an active co-author in several ongoing research publications.

Planned approach and implementation

Dries Faems has spent, in total, six weeks in Lund. Some periods have been more research-oriented, where Dries Faems has participated in data collection and writing. Other periods have been more teaching-oriented, where Dries Faems has given seminars in relation to his own research and field of expertise, as well as coached PhD students.
