Purpose and goal

The overall goals and ambitions have to a large extent been reached: - To concretize and clarify UU´s collabotion strategy. - To get an initial picture of excisting types of collaborations. - To recruit partners to the further development of the strategy. - To start working with indicators. Proposals to measureable partnerships have been developed. - The use of different ´collaboration tools´ is defined in the application to stage 2, where a close collaboration with KI, Lund and Linköping is described. - A further developed and refind application to stage to has been submitted.

Results and expected effects

- The work within the prestudy has considerably broadened the internal and external collaboration network. This regards other academic institutions as well as industries and public organizations. - An expected effect would be that collaboration is more coordinated and strategically discussed and planned among UU´s management . - A closer, concretized collaboration with our peer universities has been initiated and will be reinforced. - UU´s partnerships and strategic alliances are expected to be more structured.

Approach and implementation

Planning and execution of the first phase of this prestudy have focused on reaching as much clarity and concretion as possible in UU´s collaboration strategy. As a second phase efforts have been devoted to achieve most possible internal and external committment to the strategy. The work has been performed in a team composed of people with different backgrounds and missions and has to a large extent involved the managerial level. In addition coordinating and planning meetings have been held with especially other universities and even with representatives from external organizations.
