Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to arrange meetings and conversations on a collaboration within the framework of the VINNMER Marie Curie Incoming opportunity, and to submit a qualified proposal. This goal was achieved and an proposal was submitted on March 17, 2015. The submitted proposal contains details on the collaboration that has been organized between UCLA Statistics, Uppsala Mathematical Statistics and researcher Joakim Ekström.

Results and expected effects

The results of the project are that a collaboration was organized and that a proposal was submitted to Vinnova. The project has positively contributed to the quality of the proposal. If funded, the present project will have contributed greatly to organization of a collaboration between UCLA Statistics and Uppsala Mathematical Statistics with lots of potential and many synergies.

Approach and implementation

Meetings were scheduled with departments in Sweden and UCLA Statistics. The participation of Vinnova through funding contributed significantly to the interest and attention of the organizations and simplified many things. At the meetings conditions for collaboration were discussed and details negotiated over. The meetings contributed to efficiency in the proposal writing process, which enhanced the quality of the proposal at the submission deadline. The project worked well in every regard.
