Results and expected effects

Stockholm Solar Challenge was launched during the winter of 2014/15 and a jury was pointed. The competition attracted 70 elaborate and creative contributions from all over the world, se annex 1 and 2. The competition generated articles in international media, see annex 3. The winning contribution can be both a standalone solution as part of the urban environment or integrated into buildings design, as well as an innovation that is possible to replicate. Currently, discussions within the city of Stockholm are ongoing in what way one of the solutions can be implemented.

Approach and implementation

The competition was planned from July to September 2014. A working group was appointed and assessment criteria were set. The competition was launched on www.stockholmsolarchallenge.com. The competition ended in January 2015. Sqore compiled all complete contributions and made a first basic assessment consisting of 28 contributions that were sent to the jury for evaluation. The jury met several times to finally appoint a winner. The award was presented by the environment commissioner Catharina Luhr, city of Stockholm, at the conference Ecoforum.
