Important results from the project
The project provided a greater understanding of the world-famous culture around Silicon Valley. Through the stay, we gained knowledge of the opportunities for start-ups / companies in the Silicon Valley area, mainly TINC. It is now easy to inspire companies to join TINC and be the link to simplify contacts. The project provided an inspiration and world-wide analysis of how to further the idea of establishing a "Smart Textiles Show room Silicon Valley Hub". The stay provided several valuable contacts that are now being followed up with the aim of establishing in-depth collaborations.
Expected long term effects
We take the innovation culture with us into our environment. Contact surfaces are widened and projects have already been started. Knowledge of the TINC program has been valuable. Now there is the opportunity to be a link for companies. We are now continuing to develop the international work where the Process Manager for Smart Textiles has got a Senior Fellowship through the Wallenberg Foundation in Silicon Valley and at Nordic Innovation House in Palo Alto. A 10-month long assignment that offers even more opportunities for in-depth contacts and collaborations in different areas.
Approach and implementation
We started with a mapping and planning for an efficient stay. The steering committee chair and a member visited the project manager during the stay. It was a great way to create anchoring internally and on-site meetings. An existing network to build on is an advantage. Many activities take place and a clear plan is important to avoid the wrong focus. Culture is another, here it is important to understand and be able to adapt the way of working. During the stay, a travel diary was made on a weekly basisi to summarize impressions and to disseminate information internally and externally.
