Purpose and goal

Elforsk want to implement an innovation contest with the theme ´Smart energy solutions´. This competition is designed to stimulate the development of new solutions that will directly benefit the end customers of the electricity grid (improved reliability, less expensive electricity supplies) but also to make that network owners and traders to perform the duties more effectively. The benefits that arise from many of these solutions, due to changes in production and changes in consumption patterns, can also provide reduced environmental impact and lower transmission losses.

Results and expected effects

The outcome of this project is a pilot study that allows Elforsk (if funding is granted for implementation) can start to work with innovation competition directly after Vinnova´s decision. The following has been developed: -Communicationsplan - Scoop -The requirements -Idea and needs analyzes -detailplan for tThe competition -Members of the jury The competition process, detail planned -Neighboring stakeholders are identified and contacted -Evaluation Criteria The contest will be open in 2015-02 and the winner will be appointed before summer.

Approach and implementation

The feasibility study has been ongoing during the period 140916-141024. A project plan was made initially in the project. Unfortunately it was not possible to gather all participants in the project more than once when the participants are spread across the country. The meeting, however, resulted in a good workshop and because much work prior to the workshop, it was easy to focus on the parts where the group needed to unite. Much of the work has been done locally, ex identifying adjoining investments in smart grid, find the current needs analysis, study other races and their processes.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
