Purpose and goal
The proposed pre-study aims at formulating a proposal for a future project where the goal is to develop an energy efficient hardware implementation of the signal processing algorithms in a high speed (400G/Terabit) optical transmission system. Our target is to reduce the power consumption, at least to one tenth of today´s existing solutions. This will be done by investigating energy efficient algorithms and processor architectures and by combining DSP with analog and optical signal processing.
