Purpose and goal
The project objective is to develop a new process design and set-up methodology for the holistic optimization of roll forming. The methodology is based on the development of advanced FEM models for the energy and wear optimization, new servo-control strategies and a remote operator process set-up assistant. The consortium will deliver new Copra® FEM Torque/wear software modules implemented in the world leading finite element analysis software Copra FEA® RF, new servo control boards and an innovative remote operator process set-up assistant based on servo-motor signals.
Expected effects and result
After the project is finished data M Scandinavia AB will be a stronger supplier of roll forming technology. The world leading software COPRA FEA RF will include in the project developed module ´Torque and Wear estimation module´. Except that, a new servo controller which will improve the quality of the profile and minimized the energy consumption, new ´operator remote process-set p assistant software´. This together will make data M Scandinavia to an advanced machine supplier which can deliver servo control technology and it will increase the business which will demand new employees.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is divided in 7 ´work package (WP)´. WP1-4 and 7 runs parallel and WP5 and 6 will start up later. The participants have responsibility for different work package. The project will run during 30 months.
