Call Drones of the future - Drones for citizens and community

Purpose and goal

To develop the world´s first drone for Scandinavian conditions, especially designed to reduce Sweden´s ever-greater problems with rail traffic disruptions. The goal has been to innovate technology development and problem solving prevent and significantly reduce the number of disruptions in Sweden´s rail traffic and thus reduce the negative impact for both the individual citizen and society at large. We have achieved 75% of our set target.

Expected results and effects

In the event of a successful outcome of the project, we can prevent and significantly reduce the number of disruptions within rail traffic and thus reduce the negative impact for both the individual citizen and society at large. The project has resulted in a drone with the expected flight time with an innovative powertrain, battery technology and sensor equipment. During the project, we have also worked with IT security issues, with a successful outcome. However, the problem with the range of datalink with CE approved components has remained, where we did not reach the desired result.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was carried out according to an agile model starting in May 2018. In collaboration with Acre, the requirements were set for what the drone would be able to do to be an effective tool. Once the requirements specification was established, construction work was started, and systematic tests were carried out to determine how we would achieve expected results. In the spring of 2019, a number of flight tests will be carried out to ensure that the drone meets the set goals. The work is progressing when all goals have not been met, we expect to have a commercial product completed Q1-2020.
