Project duration January 2015 - June 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project has been to propose a strategy for the support, follow up and development of Malmö University’s research oriented collaboration with other representatives of the society. By analyzing interviews, reviewing relevant literature and conducting study visits to other universities, our understanding and knowledge of how research collaboration can be better supported has increased. The actions suggested to be implemented address different parts of the organization and can be used both for strategic discussions and in day-to-day operations.

Expected results and effects

The result consists of a concrete list of proposals to be implemented at Malmö University. The list will serve as a foundation for a continued internal dialogue focusing on research collaboration. The suggestions are well suited to develop the skills to collaborate, promote relations with external partners and improve funding. In a longer perspective, the suggestions may also increase the volume and quality of the research conducted in collaboration with external parties.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been initiated by the central administration, however, the project group was manned by researchers from the faculties. The projects draws on data collected through study visits at other universities, a review of relevant literature, and interviews with representatives from the management, researchers from three different environments at the university and representatives from seven external partners. A qualitative method was used to analyze the data.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
