Coordinator SCANDINAVIAN NONWOVEN AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 140 000
Project duration November 2013 - March 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

During the project we have looked into alternative materials and also materials composed from various materials, e.g. PP and PE, but also discussed material coated with different additives to improve especially the release property. In our studies we have not found any alternative which combines the tested material´s property, usability and price advantage in a way which should give the alternatives an advantage. On the contrary we see a certain environmental risk in coating the material with the alternatives available.

Results and expected effects

The project was aimed to develop a product which could improve our competiveness and at the same time contribute to socioeconomic advantages by prolonging the life expectancy of certain infrastructure projects. The effects of it gives a long term positive saving in both societies, environment and work environment. The challenge of the product is to change a habitual working in a traditional trade. This will require contribution such as information to the business, raise a bigger pilot project and marketing towards involved decision makers.

Approach and implementation

1.Tests and evaluations of the various release cloths has been made by CBI, which has made that we have been able to determine which material is working. 2.The market survey is made by interviewing several companies in the trade. 3.A requirement specification is established in order to secure the necessary features. 4.Together with the producer we have concluded which parameters should be used during production. 5.CBI has carried out test of the release cloth to determine that it works under different conditions.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
