Purpose and goal

The goal of this project has been to further develop an existing service provided by Railtic in aim to increase our offer to our users. This was done by developing a simple to use booking platform for train travel across Europe. The primary purpose of the project was to facilitate and enable more people to take the train abroad by making it easy and convenient to plan and book cross-border train journeys.

Expected results and effects

The result of this project has met the objectives described in the proposal of the grant. With good results, the company has achieved the primary purpose of the project, which was to further develop a booking platform for booking rail travel in almost all of Europe. After the launch of the booking platform, we expect that more people will travel by rail as they discover how easy it is to plan and book the trip compared to previously existing substandard solutions.

Planned approach and implementation

The project started with a preliminary work carried out in collaboration with existing rail travelers. The purpose of the preparation was to gather knowledge about difficulties with rail booking and what is lacking in existing services. After the preparation, we started to implement solutions to these problems and gradually iterated a product that meets the main needs of the users. We bring with us a lot of ideas and thoughts about what is wanted further in order for the service to feel complete and will implement new functionality on an ongoing basis.
