Reference number
Coordinator VÄSTERÅS SCIENCE PARK AB - Teknikbyn, Västerås Technology Park AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 50 000
Project duration December 2013 - February 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal was to prepare for this ´förberedelseprojekt´ of a test market in 2014. This has been done and the processes of how the implementation will work is in place. There is also a plan for how young people are attracted to the project and also funded through summer jobs. An offer to the business has been developed based on skill development and identification of new business ideas.

Results and expected effects

The city council of Västerås offers summer jobs for young people over three weeks, we have been offered 20 places to support the project´s youth while increasing the attractiveness of the value of participation. This means that we will be able to make a selection from a large number of applicants. We have established a network to reach out to companies with the offering in Västerås, where the focus is on informing the already existing network of this possibility. This includes Västerås Science Park, SICS Västerås, Västerås City, ALMI Mälardalen, ´Företagarna´ and ´Etablering Västerås´

Approach and implementation

The lessons we take with us from this ´förberedelseprojekt´ is mainly based on the difficulty of identifying and selling the concept to companies. Despite a solid understanding of the business of the region, efforts to obtain definite YES for participation in the project has taken a long time and work is continuing up to the application to ´genomförandeprojekt´ to be submitted.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
