Prediction tool for material supply

Reference number
Coordinator Ecoloop AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 50 000
Project duration December 2014 - March 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim is to develop unique services for a more intelligent management of soil and rock based on a further development of a forecasting tool for the assessment of material flows. The business potential has been assessed and we conclude that the potential is big. Our potential customers have expressed a strong need to coordinate their materials management, and have given us information about the kinds of services they may need.

Results and expected effects

For municipal exploitation offices, the need for a coordinated material management is large. Both for ongoing projects and to support dialogue with politicians and administrations. Some prospective clients have little knowledge about the benefits of coordinated management of soil and rock and the management is strongly degraded to individual projects. The conclusion is that the need is great and that it can be clarified with the tool. Further, there is a need for more services for concrete measures. Also, the target group is the portfolio owners and large construction projects.

Approach and implementation

The project identified actors and meetings was made with potential customers in the public sector. This gave us useful information of the need for coordinated management and how a forecasting tool can be used as a basis to develop services as an integrated materials management will be realized. An important analysis is that we should turn to the portfolio owner (players who have control over several construction projects), and owners of large projects.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
