Reference number
Coordinator WEMATTER AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 500 000
Project duration June 2015 - March 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal and purpose of the project was to scale up the machine with the possibility of larger 3D printing and to integrate a powder handling system inside of the machine. In addition, more detailed requirements have emerged from the customers and these have been specified and have been addressed in more detail. Wematter have built a strong technical and commercial platform for further expansion.

Expected results and effects

The project shows that there is great interest and great potential of being able to offer a powder-based 3D printer for an office environment. The project has been an important step to get closer to customers both those developing their own products and mechanical engineering consultants who want to be able to produce prototypes and finished parts in an office environment. This creates the basis for being able to scale up and reach more customers both national and international.

Planned approach and implementation

A close dialogue have been held with the customers and consultants have been included to address specific technical challenges but also IPR strategy and that has resulted in a better understanding of an IPR strategy for Wematter. Wematter have delivered 3D printed parts, have constructed the 3D printers and verified the customers´ needs.
