Purpose and goal

The project has been a big success for LiU developing the profession of valorisation coordinators. The coordinators have assisted their institutions and faculties, as well as university management, to provide good examples of collaboration in the academic core processes on an on-going basis, followed up the activities with regard to the quality and impact of collaboration; as well as further developed and strengthened collaboration with the surrounding society for the benefit of both the research and education quality and the development of society as a whole.

Expected results and effects

The breadth of completed activities and achieved goals are great, common denominators is that time and resources have been allocated to: 1. Develop the competence of LiUs valorisation coordinators 2. Making research results available to the target groups where knowledge can be utilized 3. Extend external contact networks (nationally as well as internationally) in order to find new project ideas for collaborative research 4. Create new resources through either direct external financing or co-financing in joint applications

Planned approach and implementation

In order to support the professionalization of the co-ordinators a two-year program, consisting of training initiatives and arenas for exchange of experiences, both locally and nationally, has been implemented. To support the strategic collaboration of the academic institutions, a development fund with valorisation resources has been established. Finally, the work on documenting research collaboration and its utilization and impact has continued continuously. Case studies underlying the continued evaluation and availability of LiU´s research impact.
