Purpose and goal

The purpose of this project was to build a digital platform for community based NGOs, companies and consumers - a platform that would facilitate the financing of NGOs. The goal was to develop, test, evaluate and build a platform with input from our stakeholders - a goal that we have achieved. The platform is used by 15 NGOs and 5 companies. During q2 2017 we will launch the platform so as to reach more companies and NGOs. The platform reaches more and more consumers, mainly through social media. We´ll continue to develop the platform in accordance to the actual needs of our stakeholders.

Expected results and effects

Expected results: more funding reaches community based NGOs, easier to administer funding and easier to plan long term. Our test NGOs consider the platform to be an important fundraising- and marketing tool. NGOs state that they have a better overview of the fundraised money through the platform compared to other alternative ways of raising money, something that reduces their administrative burden. Expected effect: strengthening of communities from below. More money and less administration enables organizations to work more efficiently.

Planned approach and implementation

To divide the project into two phases gave us the opportunity to see what our stakeholders THINK their needs are and what their needs ACTUALLY are. By testing our stakeholders´ use of various features of the platform, we have been able to adapt the platform to the needs we actually see. Working through the LEAN method is something that we are used to and have done since start. We will continue to work with the reference groups that we have established to get valuable input for further development of the platform!
