Planning grant mobility Chalmers and DB Schenker. Opportunities to improve transport efficieny with big data.

Purpose and goal

The purpose and objective of the project have been fulfilled as an application to the call Mobility for Growth, outgoing academy, has been completed in cooperation with DB Schenker in Frankfurt and submitted to VINNOVA. Magnus Blinge visited DB Schenker in Frankfurt on two occasions to agree on an appropriate research topic and a suitable work location in the DB Schenker Group. Magnus has also met with key members of the potential collaborative project group.

Expected results and effects

The result of the planning grant was a submitted application and, by extension, the approval of the application involving a boosted career path for Magnus Blinge as leader of international cooperation projects at Chalmers together with academy, authorities and industry.

Planned approach and implementation

Two visits to DB Schenker in Frankfurt has been made. At the first opportunity was the content and mutual benefits of the cooperation discussed. A draft version of the application that suited both parties was made in the period between the visits and a complete version of the final application was discussed and refined during the second visit. Magnus also met with the possible DB Schenker project management team.
