Purpose and goal
The project has in a series of project and coordination meetings, identified the main technology challenges and basic process steps, as an input to the next step, specifying and dimensioning essential pilot facility equipment. The project has initiated a work to describe legal, operative and financial structures for establishing and managing a pilot facility.
Results and expected effects
The project has resulted in an interest from further key actors to either take part or to be associated with the next step of the project. The project has resulted in an interest from several stake holders (Swedish as well as International) in the value chain, on top of the ones already taking part of the project planning, to assess the business opportunities in an emerging textile recycling business.
Approach and implementation
The basic set up has been to identify a limited number of prioritized and well specified analyzes that gives essential information and facts for the next step. These analyzes covers mapping of textile streams, pre-treatment technologies, fiber generating processes and chemical challenges. A number of documented project meetings have been held where conclusions and recommendations for next steps have been made where among others the above mentioned analyzes have been a vital input.
